Pop Culture Odds and Ends – Welcome to 2015 Edition

Out with the old and in with the new. So far 2015 is off to a decent start. I don’t know how much weight that statement carries after 7 days, but I guess it’s better than saying 2015 is off to a bad start. I’m doing OK with my resolutions as well, which is a good sign. There have been years when I’m already off the wagon at this point. I have some issues with willpower.

But enough about my issues, let’s get down to business with the first pop culture roundup of 2015. As usual, I’ve scoured the web to find the best that the last week had to offer. Get yourself caught up with the latest installment of the week in pop.

  • A belated Happy New Year from the cast of Bob’s Burgers:

  • This dog loves Guardians of the Galaxy as much as I do (though I prefer Groot to Rocket Racoon):

  • The strip club featured in The Sopranos was robbed – again!
  • Kevin Spacey does a decent rendition of “Piano Man”:

  • This video used 20,000 photos to chronicle a day at DisneyLand:

Time for some trailers…..

  • Marvel thought that they were being cute with an ant-sized teaser for Ant-Man:

  • They’ve since released a normal trailer:

  • A new look at Cinderella:

  • A trailer for David Cross’ directorial debut:

  • Chris Evan in a trailer for Call of Duty:

  • Season 4 of Comedy Bang! Bang!:

  • FX’s new comedy Man Seeking Woman:

  • A new trailer for Peanuts:

  • Word to the wise – don’t challenge Disney World’s Gaston to a push-up contest:

  • I would definitely attend Whitlock Academy:

  • Bradley Cooper showed off his air guitar skills on The Tonight Show:

  • Hmmm….one of these people does not belong in this mini-Godfather reunion photo:

  • Here’s a rap tribute to Parks and Recreation:

As always, we end with the mashups and supercuts….

  • So a McDonald’s-themed Black Sabbath cover band is a thing that exists. Behold Mac Sabbath:

  • It was inevitable – a Parks and Recreation/Jurassic World mashup:

  • A supercut of Carl Sagan saying millions, billions and trillions on Cosmos:

  • People saying “It’s not what it looks like” in the movies:

And finally, this made me laugh – Serial reimagined as a rom-com:
